Quality Control:

Apex follows AAMT standards to ensure high level of quality in transcription work. We have an exclusive quality policy in place. The QC process involves ensuring that accuracy levels are built-up as the transcription work progresses.

We apply two-tier system.  Medical Transcriptionists are divided into Teams and each headed by a Team Leader. 100% of the transcribed reports are proofread/edited to attain the accuracy level up to 100%. QC level involves if there are still doubt or blanks in the file to ensure the high quality.

We also have a Audit team which randomly does the Quality Check to ensure meeting the quality standards.  About 20% of work done is randomly audited.

We also have a very focused recruitment program and unless the candidate clears the defined parameters they are not absorbed by Apex.

Security

Apex committed to privacy and to meeting HIPAA standards

APEX understands that HIPAA privacy standards are absolutely critical to healthcare providers. To that end, every effort is taken to ensure the confidentiality of every document we transcribe.

At APEX, we've implemented the following practices to ensure that we are meeting the standards of patient confidentiality and information security:

·         APEX’s medical transcriptionists have signed confidentiality agreements.

·         Apex’stranscriptionists are assigned unique usernames and passwords, enabling us to know which transcriptionists have worked on every document.

·         We never send transcripts via email- this is not a HIPAA-compliant method of transmitting medical records.

·         We require that the transmission of all voice and text files be encrypted and password-protected.

·         Both our web application and our desktop products use up to 256-bit encryption.
